Open skills Introduction- Sept session

NKC Classes Introduction
Open (CDX) Obedience Skills

This class is intended for students who are actively working on their Companion Dog (CD) legs and are wanting to get started with Open Skills. We will start by assessing each dog’s readiness for this level of training and then dive into some of the more advanced skills. Open skills will include: jumping (high, bar and broad jumps), retrieving, position changes and off lead heeling. On the way we’ll be sharpening our fronts, finishes, halts and stays. Teams will require a properly sized dumbbell. and a short tab lead.

Note: To be accepted into this class, all dogs must be able to heel on leash with minimal correction, perform stays for at least one minute and up to 3 minutes and to recall to front. Handlers whose dog does not have these skills, but who feel their dog is ready for the advanced work, should speak directly to the Instructor before registering. The dogs will necessarily be off lead from time to time in this class, so we need to know everyone will remain safe.
